San Gorgonio Peak - Hiking

San Gorgonio Mountain - It is the highest peak in Southern California and the transverse ranges at 11,503 feet.

Use the following address to get into the Trail head.
Big Falls Picnic, Forest Falls, CA, 92339, USA

The first 1-2 miles are very steep and after around 1.5 miles, you will see this board and this is where the ranger checks for the permit. The permit is mandatory here and they will give only 12 if you are walk-in. I'd suggest to reserve the permit weeks before or if you walk-in, be there at around 6 AM.
You see a wonderful & thick forest at around mile 3. The grade is gradual and the scenery is lush.
There are couple of small waterfalls along the way. So you don't need to worry about the water. But the last 3-4 miles doesn't have any water resources, please make sure that you have at least 1 ltr of water for the last 3-4 miles.
There are so many nice places to click the pictures.
Our first view of San Gorgonio. The viewpoint is very close and worth a stop, it has a sweeping view to the south.
Head back on the trail and start climbing again. You still need to go 2 more miles to the summit.
The summit is just a 'walkable' distance from here ..)
Congratulations, you have reached the summit (The tallest mountain in Southern California at 11,503 feet)
We climbed more than 5500 feet which was very strenuous. We started at 7:30 AM in the morning and finished at around 8:30 PM
